We opened in 1970 & have enjoyed being a locals favorite for pizza, pasta & great Italian food in downtown Steamboat ever since.
**** “Don’t Mizz Mazzola’s!” May 2018
A local we met at the Laundry bar suggested we try Mazzola’s. We started off with a Mazzola’s style Manhattan cocktail. Pretty tasty and not shy on the pour. Went well with the complimentary focaccia bread and hummus. We intended to have pizza, but the special Chicken Carbonara sounded so good we decided to share that and a small King Karne pie. I thought the pasta dish lacked seasoning, but the salty meats on the pie helped balance the flavor when eaten together. They also didn’t remove the woody ends of the asparagus, so that was disappointing. The pizza was very good and we left satisfied. Our server, Cole, was super friendly and attentive.
**** “ONE GREAT BIG MEATBALL". June 2018
I really enjoyed this place.
The pasta and sauce with one big meatball is to die for. The baked ziti was also a major homerun. The price is reasonable and food is out of this world.
**** "First Visit". March 2018
Walked in off the street and had a very enjoyable meal. You enter via a very narrow staircase, down to a very narrow restaurant. The place seems a little but edgy, but in a good way! The decor us a bit dark. Everyone is exceptionally friendly, from the woman who greeted us to the serving staff. The music is great! Blues - and an exceptional selection!
My husband and I both chose the daily special, Chicken Marsala with Mushrooms. It was very good. Portions were generous. We also ordered the featured wine that day - a nice Chianti at a reasonable price.
We enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning.
***** “Delicious!” JULY 2018
Everything was great! Pizza and butternut ravioli were delicious! The staff was very friendly! Would certainly recommend this place to my family & friends!
January 2018
My son wanted to eat here on his birthday. We were seated after about 10 minutes, even though they were packed. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, it was cooked perfect. The fried lemon is a nice surprise! I had chicken Parmesan for dinner. It was so delicious and I hated when I got full. Our server was great. I wish this place was in my town because I would eat it weekly. If you love Italian food then you definitely want to eat here.

Yum yum in my tum tum. After a day of hanging out at the hot springs (with no food), we were looking forward to eating at Mazzola's on our way back. Definitely glad we checked Yelp and came by.
Super excited about the complimentary bread and hummus - the cheesy bread was great. For an appetizer, we ordered calamari. It was awesome - great batter, dipping sauce, and fried pepperoncinis. We moved on to Mazzola's pasta special which included a large portion of steak and a balsalmic sauce. The sauce went so well with the steak, and the egg noodles were unexpected, but awesome. If Mazzola's has a pasta special, don't even question it, just do it. We also tried the shrimp scampi - the buttery sauce with the shrimp and lobster was delicious - would've liked a little more crab, but isn't that the case with all things crab?
Great experience, great food, great everything.
***** “Delightful experience!” March 2018
Brought family in from out of town. Michelle served us, and was amazing! Thank you for your recommendation for the Ricotta Gnudi, it was out of this world!!
***** “GREAT MEAL" JULY 2018
Saturday night visit and only 30 minute wait and clean convenient text when you me table was ready. Nice variety. Tasty option that were fresh and well prepared. Large portions that made excellent leftovers. Homemade butternut ravioli was excellent.
