We opened in 1970 & have enjoyed being a locals favorite for pizza, pasta & great Italian food in downtown  Steamboat ever since.

We tried to get in on a Monday night around 7pm and there was an hour to 2 hr wait. So, on Thursday we finished our ski day, called in for a reservation- available only between 4 & 5:30 pm and had the best time!

So glad we got in- we were starving and Mazzola's hit the spot. Fresh bread, white bean dip, cheese sticks, wine, pan seared red trout, butternut squash ravioli, wine and lamb bolognese pasta with an amazing tiramisu to finish out the meal. Travis, our waiter, was phenomenal. We just loved it....

We've been there, loved all, food, service, atmosphere, then we decided to come one more time before leaving the town, everything perfect. I would come back the third time in one week if I could :)

This was our second time visiting - my daughters loved this place and wanted to come back. We gave them our name and cell number and they called us in 30 minutes and said our table was ready. This gave us time to do some shopping in downtown. Our food and waitress were both excellent and we will come back next time we are in Steamboat.

We were a group of 9 and only waited on a Friday night about 45 minutes so don't be discouraged by the fact they do not take reservations.

 

We ordered the following and all except the mussels were fantastic, the mussels were very large but fishy and not flavored well. We did not complain because all other items were above par.

 

Calamari app, great flavor and sauce was great also

Lamb risotto, I am not a fan of risotto but my friend who eats it all the time said it was great

Chicken Parm, very good

Chicken Picatta, not your standard what you think of and a very large portion - very good

Ricotta Nocci, again I would not order but it was very good according to our friends

Caesar Salads, too much dressing but good.

Kids offerings are plentiful and very affordable...

WOW! You cannot go wrong here! Everything was delicious! I got the Vodka Pasta, I was there over a year ago and I still remember. It was so good. My family and I were there on a ski trip, and everyone got something they absolutely loved. We ended the meal by splitting the chocolate calzone. DO NOT LEAVE without doing this!! There were six of us and we were practically licking the plate clean...

We enjoyed a nice meal at Mazzola's - food, wine and dessert were great. One in our group ordered the Tuscan Steak and said it's one of the best steaks he's had. Other Italian dishes were great as well - vodka pasta and lasagna. The fudge calzone for dessert was super rich and tasty - definitely get it to share!

Finally got to someplace that was just truly amazing. We waited FOREVER to get in here on a Sunday night no less! Happily, I can say that it was worth the wait. The hostess, knowing that it was going to be a long wait told us that they would take our cell phone number and call us when a table was ready. I really wish more places would do this as it allowed us to casually stroll downtown Steamboat Springs and hit up most of the stores while we were waiting. The building itself wasn't anything too special on the inside. It was very narrow and sort of dark but it was nice and clean. The service was great! Joe was our server and he was quite attentive even when it took awhile to get our food to us because it was so busy. He was great at keeping our glasses full and had a very welcoming personality. They brought out some white bean dip with seasoned olive oil with Kalamata olives complimentary to the table. I'm pretty sure it was gone within 5 mins. It was really great. My wife who is NOT a bean fan even enjoyed it.....
